Speech about Mother Suvarchala, consort of Lord Hanuman.
…
Do we not treat it with respect? Do we simply throw it away? It is very precious. It is like our child. More precious than a child. It is Amrita, what they give us. Whatever they may give, be it a thread, padukas, or a fruit. It is a direct gift from Him. It is priceless.
The Sun says to Hanuman, this is a ray of the sun, she is my child. I am unable to withstand her power. Please take her from me. Keep her with you, this bright ray of sunshine. I am gifting her to you. Hanuman could not refuse, because the Sun was his guru. He could not say, I myself am a ray of light. I am quite bright by myself. I do not require any embellishment to my brightness. Therefore he agreed to take care of her. He kept her beside him. She is only light. But such light is invisible. Therefore, she appeared in the form of a female. She is a female form of a bright ray of sunlight. She is the lady of the house who lights up the household.
Without a woman in the house, the house is incomplete. There is no light in the house. No matter how busy we may be, we keep calling out to mother. There are households no doubt, where there is no mother. The children manage to grow up regardless. They may become highly educated and qualified. But the individual who grew up with the experience of mother’s love is definitely different from a person who grew up with a lack of mother’s love and attention. Certainly there is a difference between children who are reared by a loving mother, and those children who lack the nurturing of a mother. Some features will be lacking, despite good qualities. Mother here, like a ray of light, gives radiance to the house.
On a rare occasion you may find a mother who shows favoritism and animosity towards a child due to conflicts about property division and so forth. Some children develop an enmity towards mother under some situations. But generally, there are no bad mothers. There are only bad sons. No matter how bad an individual she may be, a mother always is concerned about the welfare of her children. Even at her last breath, she still worries about her third child who is not on the right path and prays for his protection. He will not reform. Even the husband asks for poison so that he may *** the wicked son. But the mother defends the son and hopes that someday he will mend his ways. She keeps hoping. A father has no patience. Mother is a manifestation of patience and kindness. There may be some rare exceptions where a mother is evil. Most of the time mother is divine. She is light.
Sun gave his child, the ray of light as a gift to Hanuman for safekeeping, to be treated as his partner. Hanuman said I will treat her as a spouse whom I have to take care of and protect. My own rays of light are sufficient for me. I do not need her light. I will always remain a Brahmachari on Gandhamadana Mountain. Hanuman accepted the responsibility of taking a wife. The Sun never addressed her as Hanuman’s wife. Hanuman gave confidence to his Guru, assuring that his daughter will be safe with him. The Sun never told Hanuman to lead a life of conjugal love or to give birth to 4-5 children. Hanuman promised that he would treat the girl as another of his own rays. She is Suvarchala, one who gives radiance. Hanuman is radiant because Surya’s daughter Suvarchala is with him.
We as humans think in terms of marriage. Suvarchala is depicted as a deity in the form of an idol. There is nothing wrong. We are in a human form. So we attribute a human form also to *** and offer worship to Him in such a form. It is not wrong. We identify ourselves with our bodies and engage in activities involving the body. We drink coffee from a cup. We do not say, I drink coffee as my soul, within my soul. We physically consume coffee in a cup. From tomorrow consume coffee, eat idlis, and have your meal only as Atma/Soul. You are thirsty, so drink two bottles of water only as Atma. Consider yourself only as Atma, and come outside without wearing clothes and you will have rocks thrown at you. Dogs will bark at you. You have to give respect to the needs of the body, heat, cold, thirst, hunger, joy, sorrow, sleep, anger, all the inner enemies, all of which stick to us like salt, they are ingrained in us, and all these have to be accepted, experienced, and endured. But we have to transcend them. That is the purpose of our seeking the help of a Sadguru. We must approach him with good hearts.
Since morning, for 3-4 hours you have been sitting here. What more Yoga asana do you require? Is this not yoga? You have been listening to Swamiji’s words. You are listening to every word that has been uttered. Is this is not an austerity performed by the ears (Karnasana)? Is this not a Karna Samadhi/focus of the ears? You are all sitting on the floor, like in Padmasana. What more yoga do you need? Show me something better than this, for Datta devotees. Where is the need to practice more sadhana? Your breathing is even and steady. You have forgotten your homes. You have forgotten your vehicles, and your children. You are here seeing Swamiji, listening to Swamiji, many of you who cannot even give up a chair to sit on the floor. You have back pain, joint pain, muscle pain and so on. Many of you are surprised that you are able to sit here like this for hours, whereas at home, you cannot sit on the ground at all. You scold yourselves that your knees will not bend to allow you to sit on the floor. Many people cannot sit for long durations even on a chair. They keep walking around. Their back hurts. But all pains have been forgotten by you while you are sitting here with concentration on Swamiji and His words. What better Yoga asana is there than this?
Is not speaking with Swamiji a Yoga Asana? Are not my words yogasana for you? Is not your steady breath a yogasana? Is not your concentrated listening yogasana? You listen to a hundred instructions. You only practice one of them. Okay. Follow just one. One per lecture is enough. Just follow one rule per discourse. Like that you listen to a hundred discourses by Swamiji. When you do that, is your life not fulfilled? Are you not getting liberated? Why will liberation elude you if you are good hearted?
*** has been depicted here in a human form in the shape of an idol. If you disapprove, you may reject. Others who like it will accept it. Are we not performing marriages of dolls, calling them Rama and Sita? The actual marriage took place some eons ago. Do we not perform the wedding of Venkata Ramana Swami, placing idols? We are reliving those days. Is Venkata Ramana Swamiji actually present there? Is Alivelu Mangamma present? Is Mahalakshmi there in person? No. Padmavati Devi has not come. Is the Lord coming directly to tie the Mangala Sutram? The priest is tying it. By the power of the mantras, the priest assumes the role of the father of the bride. He becomes Brahma. He becomes the representative, while on the altar. Once he comes down, he will begin thinking of his gratuity. But on the altar, he is acting as ***’s representative. After all, the marriage took place in Kali Yuga. We go back to those days. Because we actually were present at that wedding, now, we are able to witness it again. Otherwise, we would not be eligible to view the wedding.
We were all there in those days. We have all taken so many births, in what different locations, we do not know. We are now following Swamiji and chasing after Him, because this relationship is from many lifetimes ago. You are just continuing it. Otherwise it is not possible to continue. We feel some inexplicable yearning, some indefinable love we feel for Him. Without a previous connection, it is not possible.
People ask: what has your Sadguru done for you?
My being with Him is itself a great boon. That boon He has given me. That is enough. He looks at me. He listens to me. I follow Him.
You are crazy to follow Him.
Yes. I am crazy to follow. But I follow Him. I like this. If I should follow you instead, I will become crazy in a different way. This type of craziness appeals to me. I am crazy in a very steady manner. With you, I will experience different types of madness. This is far better. This way of mind corruption is far superior to your mental corruption. This is how you should answer and respond to people.
With Swamiji, I feel hope. I feel happiness. With you, I feel fear of all types. I lose hope. I lose my fear when I am with Swamiji. I feel courage that sooner or later things will settle down and will be all right. That should be your answer.
Are your hopes justified? Are things working out?
No. But I still have hope. Because things have not worked out yet, I still have hope that they will. I have courage. Without Sadguru, my heart would have failed and I would have died. Now He has given me the strength to bear my burdens and endure my troubles. That is enough. If others tell me, I will not gain such confidence.
Hanuman, having obtained Suvarchala Devi from the Sun ***, was now all powerful. All the gods warned Sani (Saturn) not to meddle with Hanuman. They reminded Sani that Hanuman is his brother-in-law, having married the daughter of the Sun. Sani is also a son of the Sun ***. Be careful in your dealings with Hanuman, they cautioned him. Sani was adamant about capturing Hanuman. He went. Hanuman saw him. Sani taunted and told him that he would capture him. Hanuman, Instead, caught Sani with his tail and traveled to all the three worlds, banging and bashing him up against each and every mountain and sharp rock as he went. Sani’s entire body became bruised and wounded. He suffered unbearable pain and begged pitifully to be set free. Hanuman warned Sani to leave not only him, but all his devotees also alone, or else he would chop him to pieces. Hanuman gave him permission to catch hold of all non-devotees.
Sani said: Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji is having the whole world chant the Hanuman Chalisa. Whom will I catch hold of? Hanuman said: There are still many who are not chanting the Hanuman Chalisa. You go catch them. There are those who have promised to chant, but do not. Catch such people. O but they may begin to chant now. If they begin to chant now, then you have to leave them alone.
For Sani, Tailabhishekam, ablution with oil, is very important. With sesame oil if he is anointed, then all his wounds feel some relief. Then he will bless such devotees for having given him relief from his pain. He feels cool with the sesame oil bath. Those who worship Hanuman are spared from any harm by Sani.
Go have darshan of Marakata Hanuman along with Suvarchala. This same stone, another half was sent to America as Marakata Hanuman there recently installed (Frisco, Texas, USA). While doing abhishekam with different substances, different wondrous hues emanate from the image of Hanuman. With milk, curds, honey, and so on, different sparkles come out as if stars are streaming out from him.
I have come here to see Hanuman. We are all conducting the Hanuman Chalisa Maha Yajna. You must send your count regularly to sgshanumanchalisa@gmail.com along with your photo. It appears on facebook. Do not say you have already done it. You must continue to do so. Do it nonstop. Another 400 crores have to be done. I wanted to conclude by November. But it is taking more time. Do more. Do in all villages, and schools. Even in America, in Christian schools also they are chanting.
Swamiji is proceeding to Vijayawada for the Ganapathi festival to offer worship to Kshipra Ganapathi. Tomorrow Swamiji visits Nizamabad, Kamareddy, and the day after He visits Datta Giri and proceeds to Vijayawada. Jayalakshmi Mata Kalyanam (4th time) will also be conducted. All of you please attend.
On the 26th Sani Homa and Sani Tailabhishekam will be conducted here. It is good for your health. Do not miss that important program.
