Speeches of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji - November 6, 2015 - Dwaraka Hanuman Mandir, Dwaraka - New Delhi
Speech in the morning

…( beginning of the speech not audible)

Our trees have to be protected and Dharma has to be protected.

Many people speak of Dharma but they do not follow Dharma. Each has to personally practice Dharma. It is very easy to do so. Speak only the truth. Only for preservation of one’s life, one may utter falsehood. But people speak lies for every small thing. It is not good. That must be stopped. That is one simple way to preserve Dharma. Only time when you may tell a lie is if your life is at stake. You speak lies about mother and father. *** knows your every action, word, and thought. The five elements are witnesses and know when your mind is entertaining a bad thought. The five elements also know when you are thinking good thoughts.

The combined manifestation of all the five elements is Lord Hanuman. He is represented by his five heads of Vanara/monkey, Narasimha/man-lion, Khagarat/eagle, Kroda/boar, and Aswa/horse. They indicate the five elements. Such a form the Lord has taken. You all know the stories of Narasimha’s incarnation, of Hayagreeva, and Yajna Varaha about what happened at the beginning of Creation. Such a form as Yajna Varaha/boar does not exist anymore.

We are small mortals. We show the forms of lion, boar, and horse and refer to them as the incarnations. But that is not correct. Those specific divine forms occurred only once for the protection of the world. We see monkeys and say this is the form of Hanuman. A monkey is not Vanara or Hanuman. Vishnu took a human form. Then all human beings must be Vishnu. People are given names like Vishnu, Satyanarayana, Rama and so on. But are they really divine beings? No. A person named Satyanarayana is perhaps full of untruths. So beautiful is Lakshmi. Is every woman who is named Lakshmi really like Lakshmi? No. Many are the worst misers. Only the form is remembered when we utter the names.

*** is omniscient and omnipresent. He is in Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Space, Sun, and Moon. He is also in the form of man. But He transcends the philosophy of Vedanta. Vedanta at the highest level says that all forms are of ***. He is the one who cries, laughs, and does everything, and exists also as a mosquito. Only *** has that power. He has taken the forms and has spread himself as the wide population. But not every creature is ***. Only the aspect of *** or a spark thereof is there in everyone. But where actually divinity exists, it is our misfortune that it goes unrecognized. People consider such a one to be an ordinary human being. *** came as a human being also, as the son of Dasaratha, Sri Ramachandra. But very few people recognized that Sri Ramachandra was actually Lord Narayana. Only those who did so got Liberation. All others suffered rebirth. We are all also like the contemporaries of Sri Ramachandra, but because of our misfortune we are unable to recognize the presence of *** who is amidst us. We consider Him as an ordinary person, like the son of another Dasaratha. Only when you feel in your heart that He is actually ***, you become free from ignorance. Till then, you remain in ignorance. That is why you need Guru to help you to recognize ***. *** is omnipotent and all-pervasive.

Man is ignorant. It comes from his ego. My house, my car, my bank balance. I built this house, I gave birth to these children. As long as ego exists, Liberation is not possible. Always remember that all you do is only by the grace of ***. I speak, laugh, and do things only by the grace of ***. Those who believe firmly like that will certainly obtain Liberation. Always, people are drowned in egotism. I am. This is my name. I am ***. I am everything. Then why do you weep? Why do you feel pain? *** should always be blissful. Why do you complain about children, about other people? Why do you bother? You feel hunger. You get sleepy. You get thirsty. *** has no such. But you think you are great. Guru shows you what makes you ignorant and what ignorance is.

So many people declare that they are seeking Truth, Truth, Truth. What is Truth? Can you purchase a few kilos of Truth in the market? No, it is not possible. First you go inward into your inner mind. Listen to your conscience. Ponder deeply about what this life is. He, who contemplates seriously will certainly find Truth. Those who are always preoccupied with family problems, social problems, quarrels with others, physical needs, and dissatisfactions, how can they be liberated? You have to be involved and yet, be free. The sense organs are the ones that drag you into these egotistical affairs. Once you are very old, in your nineties, you once again become like a child. Such a person cannot even recognize who has come, even if it is his own grandchild. Old age is terrible. One becomes very forgetful. They lose all their assets. One crore rupees, he gets cheated out of. Cannot see, cannot hear. The breathing is not good. The America doctors have to help him, he wishes. He wants a special operation performed in America. Why?

Once one is 65-70 years old, one must begin to think of the return journey. One must recognize the fleeting and impermanent nature of all possessions and relationships. One must realize that all this is only leased accommodation. People will leave. Get married and leave. Go away on their own work and affairs. All display affection is only play-acting. It is not genuine. It does not come from the heart. Each person thinks only of himself or herself. About his own finances, and his own protection. When you become old, at best, they will provide the minimal comforts, a room, an attached bathroom, and a servant/attendant and they will go their way to America. His own children will do the same to him. This is all Maya. It goes in a repeating cycle. This is all contamination.

It is very difficult to leave all this. That is why one should read good books, the scriptures like Bhagavatam, Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana, and seek Guru Sannidhi/association. One must chant the Guru-given mantra. One must follow Guru’s teaching. That is the only way to freedom. Otherwise, one cannot get free from the bondages of Karma. So much of love and attachment people develop and build. Now see, even towards a small child, a centenarian’s expression of love is also only selfish, egotistical love. How can I leave this child and die? He prays for more years to live. But he will get bored of living for so long.

One king did penance and got the boon to live for 10,000 years. Six hundred years, and finally, one thousand years went by. He got so bored. All his own children, continuing generations, and all near and dear ones, all grew old and kept dying. He was miserable and wished to die. That is why *** gave us only 120 years to live. Sri Krishna lived for 120 years.

60 years is a full, complete cycle. That is a full life. After that each year is a bonus up to 120 years. Past that, it is very tough to exist. 60 years is enough. After that every year is a gift from ***. All people here, who are over sixty, raise your hands. I am also past 60. I grant you all a full life. From now on leave off all attachments. Act affectionate and loving and pray in their names. Leave the burden upon ***. The youngsters will be happy that you are praying for them. Simply do not die worrying about others. Only your merit and sins go with you, not your sofa, house, car, or even the beautiful body. You may be most good looking, Mr. or Miss Delhi. But they do not go with you. Your children, and relations do not go with you. What have you learnt from Guru? Only devotion towards ***.

All of you together sing the Hanuman Chalisa once.

Speech in the evening

Tomorrow and Sunday programs are in Swaroop nagar. Try to come.
If heart wants to come, Delhi traffic does not matter.

Control your mind to control your senses. Don't let the senses play hay wire with your life.
When you give importance to material luxuries, they take control of your life.
To not allow evil energies to take over your life, Sadhana is needed.
When mind opposes these enemies, they resist. The efforts may look futile. But Chitta shuddhi, leads to good thoughts. Good thoughts lead you to better life. That is victory.

In Sundara Kaanda, the Vanaras felt lost when their search for Sita Mata did not lead to anything. They prayed all Gods. But Jaambuvanta remembered the Shaktis of Hanuman. Hanuman himself felt the Rama Kaarya difficult. But Angada and others encouraged him and sang peans on him. Then Hanuman grew and decided to visit Lanka.
When we try to control mind, we will have severe doubts about our ability to do it, but remembering Guru and Hanuman Shakti empowers you.

If you feel defeated, you will be defeated. But having courage to go ahead will take you great lengths. Sundarakaanda Parayana has to be done in every home. Ramayana is there to redeem humanity from sufferings. All characters in Ramayana lead by example. Human relationships - how a husband and wife should live, parents - children relations - all are covered. Think deeply about Ramayana, you will slowly understand. The understanding will grow. If you are not able to do it, I would not be speaking about it.

Don't feel depressed. Don't have self doubt. Work won't get done by these negative thoughts. You have to self generate positive energies. Don't go to bed with these bad enemies. Your sleep cycle will get disturbed. Imagine good things - don't be self defeatist.

Go to bed with thoughts of ***. You imagine things. Don't have imaginary arguments. Lead your life with name of ***. Forget past and start with a clean slate with name of ***. Lead a simple life. A simple life will have less friction. Don't let doubts lead your life. Sleep is very important for healthy life. When you get up, pray Sun ***.

Every life has negative and positive aspects. Don't allow negative aspects alone control your life. Good and bad are part of life. *** has created us with dualities. Can any one create a human? *** creates us. Human life has come to us at great amount of good deeds from past life. There is a great intention of *** in creating you. Use that good from ***. Don't abuse *** or Guru. Faith in *** is important. Faith in our abilities is important. We should tread the path of ***'s energies.

*** created that brain is at the top of our body. It is our crown. Don't waste the human life. Time is short. Don't waste time. Time flies. Swamiji came yesterday and is leaving tomorrow. No one can control time. Doing good deeds is important. Don't lose the good opportunity of human life.

If you have time, attend all programs of Swamiji. Don't be a late fellow. Be on time. Start your day early. Try these small changes and experience good change in life.

Try to come to Mysore Ashrama. Your effort will be worth it. Mysore Ashrama is the Vaikuntha you can hope for.
Gods descend to earth to bless us. If we miss out, it is unfortunate.
Be good. Do good.
