Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji - bhajan session - October 3, 2015 - Mysore

Bhajan: dundhi ganeswara

We pray to Ganesha with japa, puja, pradakshina, and several austerities to get rid of obstacles faced in life. How to prevent the obstacles from occurring in the first place? Sankalpam/resolve should be pure and positive. We begin doubting success even in cooking. Impure mind causes failures. Foot placed in mud sinks deeper and deeper. One mistake leads to another. One lie leads to another. How to avoid these? Stop misbehavior. Similarly with pure minds we should perform all our actions wholeheartedly.

Cannot jump into a venture without proper planning and preparation and then pray to overcome hurdles. We hurriedly climb a ladder and then ask for a ***, nail and hammer. Washer also will be required. Reaching for it the person drops the hammer on the helper’s head, or falls from the ladder.

We sit for a meal. Then ask for water. Brahmins offer water first to the five elements and to the insects. Long, leisurely meals they enjoy with lots of sweets. That is why for them, a meal takes 2-3 hours. A fort is built with water to keep the ants out. People go into the bathroom and then shout for towel, soap, and hot water. Prepare ahead. Ask for needle and thread before you sit with flowers to make a garland. A doctor also, after diagnosing the patient’s disease, searches for tablets in his kit.

We must arrange our surroundings properly to avoid troubles. Pray to Ganesha to give us good sense to prepare well.
Meera Datta spoke about Peace in the world. Swamiji’s 24 hour Hanuman Chalisa chanting event was chosen for recognition as one among the top ten Peace Events this past year. For 24 hrs. Continuously the small children also sang and played instruments. Some never took a break. Played violin. Never slept. Participants were given only five minute breaks. These two kids are here amongst 20 or so kids. US children raised in luxury also participated. Their parents raised them well. They love Swamiji. The Guinness record is for them. For Jaitra. He stayed and conducted. He lost his voice. Next evening in the concert, he still played. I experienced World Peace that day. These great 20 kids deserve the award and recognition. The director of Guinness World Records was impressed with the commitment shown by the kids. He asked if they left in between. Everyone stayed.

The energy and vibration in that temple in Frisco, Texas is remarkable. All the time Hanuman Chalisa vibrations are heard there. 2-3 lakh (200,000-300,000) repetitions of Hanuman Chalisa took place in that temple. Such powerful vibrations were felt at that temple during the Hanuman consecration also. Hanuman got the award. That the award was given for an effort conducted for a spiritual cause, is the thrill. Many Swamis are there. I recognize all of them. Many have performed yoga acrobatics. My life’s purpose got the award. No other effort until now has been done to gain recognition. But today we got recognition. Sri Jayalakshmi Mata knows about Swamiji’s efforts. She judges. Since 1966 all that I have done, she witnesses and judges. I am always with the five elements. People can be deceived. But the elements cannot be cheated. May Mother Goddess give me judgment. I do not care about people giving recognition. Especially, that for our Hindu dharma, we got recognition, is worth taking note.

Our own Datta devotees do not wear a dot on the forehead. How do we then protect Hinduism? Men have bare foreheads, as if a dog has licked it clean. Such people have no right to speak. You first protect your dharma. Wear Datta vastrams. You give excuses. It is like a flag. Women wear pony tail, instead of wearing a traditional braid. Or at least tie a knot with your hair. You cut strips of hair in front and side or cut bangs.

I have to ask people’s names to know what religion they follow.
In U K., due to internal violence, now Hindus wear a dot on their foreheads to display their ethnicity and save their lives. Sikhs follow some traditions.
Wear a dot. Wear pony tail or frog tail. Scissors should not touch women’s hair, as per our scriptures.
Protect dharma. Then it protects you.
Told Pramod he could celebrate if he wanted, this recognition of the Peace Award Notification. So they did this.

sloka: asato ma

Bhajan: Shantirastu

This Saturday, many came and stayed here since morning. Even from Bengaluru many have come. Many have come to visit the Shuka Vana. We need more volunteers on weekends. Lots of visitors are coming. People may come serve. Any type of work. Service is the purpose, not recognition. Three photo areas have been set up at Shuka Vana. Still not enough. People are leaving disappointed because they did not get a chance to be photographed with the birds. Those with time to spare, and love for creatures may come to offer their services. No personal importance will be given. All are same. All share.

Even housewives may come and serve. Several family members may join also. People holding big positions are sweeping floors here. Amongst Christians the service attitude is much more prevalent, but amongst us also there are many who are willing to serve in areas that are not pleasant, are smelly and unclean, doing cleaning chores.

Bonsai world conference we will conduct next year. Ours is the largest Bonsai collection in this part of the world. Sweeping leaves in the garden is a job that requires to be done regularly. Need more volunteers. Swamiji loves to have everything clean. Bonsai plants are like children. Parrots fly and speak or scream. Plants are quiet. Cannot complain. For exhibition purposes, even the leaves have to be washed. People living in Mysuru are there. They can come serve. Finish housework and then come, instead of watching television. I am informing you of the opportunity. That is all. You have the chance to utilize it. Do not lose it. Things will get done regardless, whether or not you come.
