Birthday Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – June 19, 2013 - Nada Mantapam Mysore
Sri Maha Ganapataye Namah Sri Saraswatyai Namah Sri Padavallabha Narasimha Saraswati Sri Guru Dattatreyaya Namah.
You all enjoyed Appaji’s birthday. May this happiness last in you forever. May this Happiness be in your family forever. We are born every day when we wake up. Every time we open our eyes, it is like being born again. In Ramayana, when Dasaratha was letting Rama go with Vishwamitra, he said “My son sleeps at sunset and wakes up at sunrise. How can you take such a small child to war?” Then Vishwamitra suggested to ask Vasishta. Then vasishta told Dasaratha, “how did you think Rama is your son? How do you think He needs everything that humans need? Right, even when God is in human form, He takes upon Himself hunger, thirst, sleep etc. Particularly Rama’s incarnation is fully human. He takes upon Himself all the five elements, sixty four ignorances. Humans are lucky because Rama took that human form. Even the Gods are not that lucky. Human form is very valuable, because all the sixty four feelings can be experienced in it”. Dasaratha says “Rama closes His eyes at sunset and opens His eyes at sunrise. His eyes look like lotus.”
Observe how beautiful and knowledgeable their conversation is. It is educational about behavior, stating the glory of the Lord and explaining the physical beauty of Rama. The conversation of Great Men is never wasteful. They only talk according to the situation. Every word of every great man and Guru is great. We should be thankful to Mother Goddess for giving us Human life. It is said that each human is a Deity.
Dasaratha calls on each person in that meeting for to help referring to them as Gods. He calls his own people as Gods. Why should he have to call them Gods? Just as Rama calls on every hill, every river and everything around Him to help Mother Sita when She is in Lanka. This is because He believed that all those are alive. It is said that Valmiki saw the scene of how one of two love birds gets caught in hunter’s trap, the other bird gives itself in to the same trap and that scene became inspiration for Him to write the Ramayana.
Such great emotional speech is being given by Dasaratha. He asks for help to each human, pillar and rock in the room. Imagine how lucky the humans in that meeting were. Everybody who lived in Rama’s time is blessed. Similarly Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji‘s contemporaries are also blessed.
Swamiji took a scene from Ramayana today. Vasistha’s conversation with Dasaratha has many meanings. One side of it gives strength to Dasaratha and the other side of it explains the glory of God. The gist is that human form is really great. It is the path to knowledge. When vishwamitra prays Dasaratha to send Rama to forest to kill demons, Dasaratha says “how can I send my son who closes His eyes at sunset and opens His eyes at sunrise?”. Here Rama is being compared to Sun god. The explanation of Rama’s eyes is also beautiful. Even smooth wind might disturb His eyes. Such great Lord is in the forest for years, in between trees and in the wilderness. That is the glory of human life, proven by Rama. Dasaratha prays to everyone in the scene to ask Vishwamitra to stop Rama. Vishwamitra is like fire, he never takes no for an answer. So nobody responds. Then Dasaratha prays to pillars, his own ornaments, his throne and every being that he believes that have life. This shows his love to his Son. Similarly Rama prays to trees, hills and rivers for Sita’s whereabouts. This is pure love for Mother Sita. The feeling of Dasaratha in the previous instance and Rama in this instance is pure love. The flavor might be different but the feeling is love.
Dasaratha prays Vishwamitra that he himself would come, but Vishwamitra denied saying that the demons should only be killed by Rama. Left with nothing else to say, Dasaratha then prays Vasishta to help. Then Dasaratha expresses his feelings beautifully.
We as humans have to experience everything Rama did on that day. Rama was in a jungle physically when He didn’t have the kingdom. He slept in Ashramas, on thorns. When He had the kingdom, He was sleeping on the floor. That’s the glory of Rama. He never showed any supernatural powers. He performed miracles only with human form and in those limitations. Thus He taught us the glory of humans. Just as all the beings in Rama’s incarnation are blessed, you are all also blessed for being born in Swamiji’s incarnation. Why were you born when I am here? Because it is written on your head. You will follow me through all incarnations. If you are wavering for a few days in this life, you will face that wavering nature in all lives at the same time. This wavering is caused by your karmas. You have to win that wavering nature and tie yourself up to Sadguru’s feet with you mental nerves.
Ravana played music with his nerves for Lord Siva. Cant you tie yourself to Sadguru with one nerve? Your mental nerve? You will win one day. Every life, you will enjoy the have the same connection to Guru. How many lives? You might wonder. You will halt one day. I will take you there. I got you aboard my bus, and you have the ticket to liberation so I will drop you off there one day for sure! You cannot escape it. Because I’m the driver, I’m the ticketing agent, I’m the owner, I’m the bus and I’m the destination, it is my responsibility to take you there. You just sit aboard and take the ride knowingly or unknowingly. I can’t let you off in the middle of the forest. I will take you to your destination. Human life is so great. Anyway Happy Birthday! Not to me, but to you! Dasaratha’s words were meant for people in Rama’s kingdom, not for Viswamitra. All the nine rasas were in Rama’s people and similarly they exist in my devotees. They also have all the feelings, they experience all the feelings. In fact we have Nujiveedu Rasalu (a famous type of mango in Andhra Pradesh, India for it’s sweet juice) too!
Once again, happy birthday. English version might be on scrolling. Today is very precious time, I am very happy. Somebody is translating I think. I took a big subject, from Ramayana about 9 rasas. I think you can explain about 9 rasas. My special blessings to USA devotees, European devotees, Australian devotees, Trinidad devotees, Russian devotees.
Om Namo venkatesayanamah. Govinda, Govinda!
Until now, Swamiji talked about success in human life. Now I’ll tell you a truth. Only on Sunday you have arpanas. Not today. This is a 70 KG cake, I have to cut it now.
Today evening, we have Nandana MMs results. 300 People are qualified for the draw out of 1600 participants. Out of those, 300-400 people are not selected out of close to 2000 participants. Out of remaining 1600, about 300 people have written the last answer very well. They have reached semi-final. Out of them, five lucky people will get results. Swamiji saw every name, so we all have already won. We don’t know who the lucky persons are. There is a special surprise for the first prize winner too. It will only be revealed at the final moment tonight. MMS continuation registrations are increasing. Every time I scold, a thousand new registrations appear. Maybe I should scold everyday? Swamiji has made arrangements to see the MMS on many devices including laptops. Please register.
Please go to Venkateswara temple and register for Sevas. There are many programs being don form those donations. We don’t know if that Swami is doing it or this Swami is doing it. Maybe both Swamis are one. Anyway also visit Shuka Vana today and see the birds. Be silent there. All your inner flaws will disappear.
