Speech of HH Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji - August 19, 2011

Seetayah Pataye Namaha!
Jai Bolo Sree Ramachandra Prabhuvu ki Jai!
Pavanasuta Hanuman ki Jai!

“All of you have assembled here to perform Kumkumarchana reciting Lalitha Sahasranama. Till now all of you listened to Sastriji’s wonderful discourse on Rama. It is a mistake to think that why this speech while performing pooja. Listening to speech equals performing kumkumarchana.

‘Ramastu Lalitam Swamyam’
Sri Rama Himself is the form of Mother Goddess Lalitha. Sri Krishna Himself is the form of Mother Goddess Shymala. When observed from back Sri Krishna’s walk gives the vision of Mother Shyamala’s walk. Listening to the history of Sri Rama is listening to the history of Mother Goddess Lalitha. Sri Rama is Mother Rajarajeswari, Mother Lalitha, Parabrahma and Vishnu. He is everything.

‘Ramo Vigrahavan Dharmaha.’

On this auspicious Friday I wanted all of you to listen about Sri Rama. Sastriji’s wonderful extemporal explanation mesmerized the audience. The nature of Rama and Lalitha is understood by all of us. Performing kumkumarchana is a righteous deed. We are listening about righteousness. Both are the same like two streams flowing together. Sree Rama preaches our duties. In Karnataka they say “Yours is a known Ramayana”, when someone repeats narrating his problems. That is, Ramayana is so close to our lives. Most of the people know only the story of Ramayana. Story is very important. But while narrating to the story many secrets are revealed along with the story. Valmiki preached Ramayana says Sastriji.
Many of you from the nearby towns have assembled here to perform kumkumarchana. You are also blessed with the opportunity to listen to Ramayana. One can not listen to Ramayana or can say ‘Rama’ without Sathguru’s grace. Today we are all graced with Ramayana by Sathgurudeva.

In Ramayana, Rama is the son of Dasaratha. Why is he named Dasaratha? Ratha means chariot. Dasa, the ten senses we possess. Five sense of the body and five senses of the knowledge. Our body is the chariot. We are riding the chariot while performing kumkumarchna, we are sitting upon and controlling our senses. We are the riders. The chariot should follow our commands. We are not there to ride in the direction where the chariot takes us. Dasaratha had all his senses under his control. His chariot follows his commands. One who could control ones senses can be bestowed with complete bliss. Dasaratha was blessed with Rama, the form of Pramananda, the Bliss. Lakshmana gives the happiness of Goal. Bharata gives the happiness of Enlightenment. Shatrughna gives the happiness of Victory. All this happiness is bestowed upon Dasaratha in the form of his sons. Kousalya is the form of Righteousness. She is the righteous mother of Sri Rama.

“Mother Sita is Jgnana Lakshmi, the Mother of enlightenment. She was not born. She was found while tilling the Earth with a plough. King Janaka worked hard to till the land. That means Enlightenment is acquired with ardent effort. Sastriji could reveal many secrets because you are all good listeners. He said in his discourse that Rama is a righteous person who not only followed righteousness but also made every one to follow righteousness. He is the real Sathguru who followed righteousness and made every one to follow. We should praise Him for this point. Swamiji built an ashram, conducting programs to assemble you and making you all perform righteous deeds. Swamiji wants you all to lead a happy and comfortable life in the path of righteousness. All of your problems will be solved in this path.

Ravanasura the demon had ten heads. Daratha controlled all his ten senses while Ravanasura carried them as his heads. Ego, pride and other bad qualities are his heads. He had no self balance. His ignorance induced him to abduct Mother Sita. He also tried to lift Kailasa with his twenty hands. Lord Shiva suppressed his ego. Kailasa is not to be lifted by hands. It is to be lifted by heart. Seven bad habits, seven constituent elements of the body and the six desires of the mind are the twenty hands of Ravanasura. Dasaratha was bestowed by complete Bliss, Rama and Ravanasura was destroyed carrying all the unwanted qualities on his head. This is Ramayana. Hanuma crossed the ocean of body with ardent practice and saw Sita, the Enlightenment. The complete Bliss is possessed through practice. Rama Himself is Mother Lalitha. Ramayana is the book of Mother Lalitha.

Let all of you be graced completely on this auspicious occasion of Lalitha sahasranama with Kumkumarchana!
