Speeches by HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji – November 3 , 2013 - Mysore
Morning

Jaya Guru Datta

Ganapathy is God. But our earliest grandmother was captured by Narakasura and thrown into a dark dungeon. She suffered great torment. Our great great great great grandfather Lord Krishna rescued her and all the sages who were in the form of Gopikas. He brought light into their lives. That is why we celebrate Deepavali. Wish you all a Happy Deepavali! Swamiji belongs to that lineage.

We are all members of Swamiji's family regardless of our religion or level of devotion. We are all connected by the same one thread. Different beads and precious gems, all of different varieties and qualities make up this big garland. Swamiji wears this garland consisting of all. He does not hate any. Why do you dislike the differences? Don't ask questions. Simply follow. That is Dharma. Puja, Siva, religion is dharma, people say. No. It is karma. Your religion and religious practices are karma. We are all on the same boat. Water, air through inhalation and exhalation we all share. Rice, sambar, buffet we all eat. Same cooker. Same process of eating. Your blood and my blood are the same regardless of different blood groups. Why do you fight? People push away and create reasons for quarrelling. Gossip, fault-finding, why? You mind your business. Swamiji winks at someone, someone's arm he pinches. Your mind, mouth, nose are all dirty and contaminated. This is my house. If your mind is pure, Swamiji will draw you close. This is my creation.

Come here if you like. You invite yourself here and you come. Having come, behave yourself. Do not make holes in my sofa. An idle mind causes problems. Chant God's name. Serve the poor. O foolish people, give up laziness and do service. Do work, do repair work.. Your own mind is your enemy. Because you do not keep busy. At night at 10 pm I practice music. At midnight my disciples beg me to go to sleep. At 4 am I am up, even though they closed the curtains. Early in the morning I hear the sound of ankle bells. I dance with joy. I take my IPad and read the scriptures. Do I need it?. I keep my mind busy. You should do the same. Keep working, doing useful work. My mother never remained idle even for one moment. Constantly you watch useless television or dirty movies on laptop. *** scenes you watch, it is your mother, your sister, are you not ashamed to watch nudity? I used to watch the Animal Planet. Now I stopped because I cannot stand to see the animals killing one another. *** shows and eating spicy foods like pickles, increases feelings of ***.. You misuse your wonderful opportunities in wasteful pursuits.

Do good deeds and fulfil your lives.. Build your relationship with Lord Krishna, not with the evil Narakasura. Read Bhagavatam, or Bhagavad Gita, practice music, or go for higher education. Watch birds, feed birds. Sinful people cry to spend five rupees to feed some birds. They are not ashamed of themselves. You feed birds and they feed you when you die. I am having to come down to your level to speak like this.. If you are right in your actions, you do not need this advice.. If your actions are wrong, heed my words, even if it hurts you. Take this advice. I ask some if they liked my speech. Many think that this advice is not for them, they do not realize that the advice is much needed specifically for them.

Morning about birds

Jaya Guru Datta.

Seed packets we get. Half the seeds are useless. The vendors cheat. But still we have to purchase. At night Swamiji hears the parrots conversing. He knows when they are thirsty and have no water to drink. He knows if they are uncomfortable. Sometimes they speak about upcoming storms or earthquakes and even specify the locations of such. You only think of them as pretty birds with flapping wings. Swamiji's relationship with them is different. Swamiji has some very dedicated helpers who care for the birds night and day. They feed and clean the cages several times a day. The parrots are toilet-trained. Sometimes they bite. They instinctively know a person's nature and whom to trust and whom not to trust. Ramakrishna and Suresh are like angels, the volunteers work with great devotion . One day a window was left open and a bird flew away. Everyone cried, how to answer Swamiji? Finally in the evening it returned. But again it flew far away before it could be put inside the cage. God has given it wings. The entire ashram was searched. They prayed. A visitor came from the neighborhood. The bird was on his shoulder. It went to his house and landed on his shoulder. He walked down realizing that this had flown away from the ashram. We filmed it and loaded on YouTube. How many have seen the video?

Nanda is the name of this Crimson-winged parrot. It belongs to an endangered species. Hence, they are rare and very expensive. Swamiji is trying to protect this species. It is very delicate. Please do not keep the parrot on the shoulder. In fright it may harm your eye. Don't feed from your mouth. If it bites your tongue you will be sorry.

Evening gems

Rama, Rahim, Antony all are one. Since about ten days we have been discussing this topic. Rishi Prabhakar also concurred with me. We decided to have a small program on the occasion of Deepavali, the festival of lights. It is very important for the survival of humanity that people come together in unity instead of fighting because of differences on the basis of religion, caste, and so on.

Today all the children are here together. They belong to three different religions, Islam, Christianity, and Hindu. They all are united here, the Muslims, Christians, and Hindus. There is good cooperation from the Madrassa, and the Convent school. They have brought their children here for this program. We are going to conduct similar programs in every city and town, in all the countries. Let us all pledge that we will all be friends, we will help one another, and we will respect and protect each other. This Creation is one. We all share the same water, air, space, and so on. The blood that flows in each of us is the same. We may practice our individual religious practices at home, but in public, we will remain united. Swamiji is now going to travel to Muslim countries, Christian countries, and will also inaugurate a Hanuman Mandir in Delhi. He will perform a Healing Music Concert in a Muslim country.
