Speech of HH Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji on Rama Navami - March 31, 2012 - Mysore

Jaya Guru Datta

“Sri Rama Jaya Rama Jaya Jaya Rama. It is very difficult to come back from Treta Yuga to Kali Yuga. I went back to my incarnation in Treta Yuga. I had witnessed the Sita Rama Kalyanam then. Again today I am witnessing with these toys. That is why I am emotional. It is not only devotion, but it is an intense involvement. I am thinking about Saint Thyagaraja, about Bhadrachala Ramadas, about Tulsidas. But especially about Sri Thyagaraja who was always thinking about Rama, as a very close family member. At the same time I was listening to the Nadaswaram being played by Lakshman. I keep remembering. I had to control myself so much. When Swamiji gets very deeply emotional, he gets very sick.

This is all like only an ocean. This world is like an ocean. I do not see any lands or plants. Just water. No light. Cold. Such a different air. No sound. This is the beginning of Pralaya. I felt very happy at that time. It is very difficult to control the body that time. In Kali Yuga you are in the body. The buddhi is very small. The atma is very small, like a toy, and made with mud, glass, or some such light and fragile material. Perhaps it will get burned. I cannot explain this kind of an experience. I have told only a little bit of that experience. It cannot be expressed in the English language or in any words.

It is my karma that I came. I wanted to come. By some order. I have no duties. I have no karma. I have no kripa kripa kripa kripa (compassion). No. Only a tough mind. I do not share the nine types of feelings. All that I see is like small, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny insects, like this. That is what I see. I am not mother. I am not father. In your experience you are calling me mother, father, and relative. That is in your karma. It is not in my karma. It is not in my responsibility. Then why this incarnation? Because of me and karma. All lectures that explain this incarnation are all lies. Then for whose sake? Not for myself. Not for yourself. Why? You ask. You have no right to ask why. There is no need for me to give explanations. There is no taste. No light. No darkness. No birth. No death. What is this Vedanta?

Why have we come? You wish to go back? Thank you. You wish to stay back? Thank you. I have no feeling. My dear body has no feeling. No pain. This is not my body. Wonderful experience Swamiji had. I have come back. Such a remembrance. It was a tough journey to travel back from the Krita Yuga, Treta Yuga and so many Yugas. Not only 4 Yugas. Only 4 names have been given. There are millions of Yugas. Only Treta Yuga has Rama story. So many times Treta Yuga. So many times Rama. Cannot explain this confusion. You are all poor, poor people. Try to understand. Experience this light. Control the sense organs. Control the buddhi. Guru seva, guru Tatva, are all false. Such an experience you must earn. Only then you can understand, who are you? And who am I? Otherwise it is only a mental state.

We need that avastha (experience), the state of bliss, that unmattha status (crazy, mad state). Rama Kalyana (wedding ritual) is not a doll wedding. You are ignorant insects who do not understand. Wake up! Develop awareness! Don’t waste time! Such a meaning, in today’s occurrences! I cannot say any more. This is not a confusion statement. My statement is the TRUTH. My way is the right way. You are temporary students in this Janma (lifetime). You are believing only in hunger. You are believing only in the senses. Chee! (Fools!) You are wasting this birth. I am giving only caution and advice. This is not karuna (mercy). You follow your karma. Not my result. Control yourselves. This is not our body, you know? Put it to good use. Do not misuse.

Yesterday I gave advice about two stages. One is a child stage; always busy; always happy. Such a child status you need. Be busy; laughing or crying, always; you must keep busy always, otherwise the mind becomes Satan’s workshop. Keep busy, busy, busy, busy. Something, something, something, keep doing, like a child. A child doesn’t even know who is mother, who is father. You need that kind of a mind. Always be childlike. Don’t desire another Janma. When Saint Purandara Dasa was asked what he wanted, he pointed to eight mad people outside and asked to have all of their craziness.

You are hungry. Hunger makes you angry. When hunger is satisfied, you get kama, ***/desire. Then you commit sin. Chant the name of Guru, Datta, Rama; such craziness gives you a blissful state. That taste you don’t know. You will cross this ocean with that.

Sri Rama Jaya Rama Jaya Jaya Rama. So quickly you will cross this ocean. Om namo hanumate namaha. Keep doing such smarana, chanting with remembrance. All difficulties will vanish. You will win. You are in darkness. Come out of that darkness. Enough! Quickly come out and see the Light! This ocean is vast. A boat comes in the form of God, or Guru. Keep chanting. While you eat, drink, sing, keep chanting. Don’t talk about body pains. This body is not yours. It is only a gift. It will go back. It is not yours. Be ashamed of your attachment to your body. Why do you pamper it? Why do you give it so much attention?

These are not my words. Rama has spoken through me! There are different ways; short cuts and long routes. May the blessings of Rama, Hanuman, Datta, and Sri Jayalakshmi Mata be showered upon you. Trust yourselves. Then you will understand the Light. I will see you in some Loka (plane of existence) again.”
