Sri Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji - New Year Message - January 1, 2010 - Mysore

Jaya Guru Datta

After two decades, I am here in Mysore. People attribute it to many reasons such as volatility, disturbances etc. But, I see a divine reason for which we all are here, in the peaceful an tranquil Mysore Ashrama.

The past year had its share of turbulence (ups and downs) and anxiety. The constellation of planets indicated that. Calamities, both natural and man-made; had their deep impact on us. Coming this year, we all are hopeful for better time. Numerically, this is puzzling. It is 2 0 1 0.

In normal course, numerology people tend that the digits to the right (or at least the last one) should be higher than the digits to the left. This, they say, would bestow betterment, for which we strive. In this case, you are having 2 Zeroes. (One in the middle & another in the end) At first look, this does not give us even a gleam of hope.

Pessimists have doomsday predictions set for each decade, year and day. Let us not be perturbed. It is all in the stride of Nature (Both of world and human). You can interpret each digit in several methods. Just add 2 and 1. That is three. You know three stands for the Trinity, which is none other than our Sadguru. Three is greater than Zero. Hence, if we stay cohesive, we can beat the pessimism, represented by zero (Shoonya). Unity is the key note here – Note this.

If you talk about Dooms day, we can expect something very serious in the year 2345. Till then Run up events would also wreak havoc. However, normalcy would be restored after that. (Do not think that you are not alive after 330 years. You might be there, in some form). Do not deem that this is a forecast. This is an indication, available.

Coming to this year, Digits Two and One culminate in Zero. (Spiritually, we can interpret that Two stands for the twin Aspects of Prakruti and Purusha; One stands for the Jeeva. Shoonya – Zero stands for Nirvikalpa Brahman.) If you perceive that, everything has to culminate in the Infinite Brahman, symbolised by Zero which is also known as Poorna (Full); then nothing is alarming. It is the course of destiny. Or else, If you want better situation in the current year, you need to add the digits for a higher number, which would be greater than these two. (This seems so abstract and confusing. But, you can analyse this properly to understand the happenings.) 2 + 1 = 3. Three (Trinity) symbolises Guru Tattwa. Shiva is the ultimate Guru. He is Eeshwara. (Says Yoga, he is the Aadi Guru, since he is not/ cannot be measured/ bound by time and space). Here, the beauty is – Vishnu, the protector leads us to Eeshwara, the primordial Guru. In his guidance and grace, we will be spared from the wrath.

Thus, your perception would help you. You need not grade the year for doom or ***. If you want material betterment, try to identify the aspects of these events, which could lead to betterment. That perception will make your life easier.
