Sri Swamiji visited Chicago from March 18 to March 20. On Saturday March 19, Sri Swamiji visited the newly inaugurated Trinity Datta Yoga Center in Carpentersville, IL.
Sri Swamiji was impressed with the Bala Datta activities & large Bhagavad Gita learning led by
the center and
During the visit, Sri Swamiji released walkathon T shirt and Sri Datta Nama Lekhana Yajna book and Sri Swamiji spoke about how to raise children. He spoke about how children will go astray without attention and should not be forgotten. He emphasized that children should hear their parents chanting scriptures, and learn from their parents why they follow Swamiji.
He also spoke about how He is visiting Chicago despite the cold & rainy weather. He came to Chicago not for money, but to visit all of his devotees. His mission is uplifting ordinary devotees.
Sri Swamiji spoke about the benefits of working from home, and encouraged devotees to keep aside the money saved (from using less gas, eating at home, etc.) for donations - rather than spending it uselessly.
Sri Swamiji said He will come back to Chicago for a multi-day program if the Chicago devotees organize a large hall and find sponsors.
In addition to Sri Swamiji’s discourse, Chicago Bala Datta students offered Ganesh Pancharatna Stotram and sang Sumukha Ganapathy. TDYC president Jagan Bukkaraju spoke about how the center was formed, going back to Sri Swamiji’s first visit to Chicago in 1991.
The center is undergoing reconstruction to build a shrine for Dattatreya & Anagha Mata Vigrahams.
