Surya Narayana Temple Kumbhabhisheka in Kurnool

Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji consecrated a magnificent Suryanarayana Murti in SGS Ashrama, Kurnool on 10th February 2019. The temple complex is in the first floor of the building. In the ground floor is an auditorium which will be used as Kalyana Mantapa in future.
On the roof of the temple is a towering statue of Suryanarayana Swami with seven horses.
Pujya Swamiji arrived in Kurnool at 5 PM on 8th February 2019. In the evening Swagata Sabha was held in the auditorium in ground floor of the temple. Vidwan. Rani Subbayya Dikishitulu and Vidwan Gandluru Dattatreya Sharma gave scholarly welcome speeches.
On 9th Morning, Pujya Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja and then toured the temple complex in the first floor of the building complex. The salient features of the temple are:
First ever Surya Narayana temple (as main shrine) in any of Ashramas established by Pujya Swamiji.
The large shrine of Surya Narayana with a wide door is in the middle of the temple complex.
There are two other shrines. One for Dattatreya and another for mother goddess Devi
There are small Mantapa shrines for Shiva, Ganapathy, Subrahmanya, and Hanumanta
On the ceiling of the temple are sculptures of 12 Rashis & baby Krishna on peepal leaf. On the walls are the poses of Surya Namaskara.
In the evening, Kurnool Ashrama Satsang group sang Bhajans. Pujya Swamiji came and gave Darshana. Sri Swamiji released Telugu book “Aditya Hrudayamu” - a collection of Pujya Sri Swamiji’s discourses on Sun God. The book is compiled by Vidwan Rani Subbayya Dikshitulu.
On 10th February, at 8 AM, Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Yantra Pratishtha of Dhwaja Sthambha, Ganapathy, Muruga, Dattatreya, Raja Rajeswari Devi, Shiva Linga, Hanuman & finally SuryaNarayana Swami.
Pujya Bala Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja. Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji offered Maha Mangala Arati to Sri Chakra Puja and spoke about the greatness of this first ever Surya temple in Datta Peetham Ashramas across the world.
At 12 noon, Sri Bala Swamiji offered Purnahuti of Pratishtha Homas in the Yaga Shala. Pujya Swamiji and Sri Bala Swamiji climbed up the main temple tower and offered Kalasha Abhisheka to the brass Kalasham atop the 40 feet high Gopuram. Pujya Swamiji did Abhisheka with the two main Kalashas and then tied the brass Kalasha with a red clothe and put a garland on it. Later, Sri Swamiji powered Laaja, flowers and coins on the Kalasha. Sri Swamiji then walked to front and poured sacred Pratishtha Kalasha water on the statue of Suryanarayana Swami. Sri Swamiji addressed the devotee crowds spread across the grounds around the temple and made them chant Victory Victory to the calls of Dharma, Veda, Truth by Swamiji. Sri Swamiji also requested Suryanarayana Swami to bless the devout as long as Surya Deva continues to shine.
After climbing down, Sri Swamiji and Bala Swamiji came to Surya Temple. The Sun God idol is on a large stone chariot of seven horses driven by Aruna Deva. Surya Narayana Swami idol is in the center at top. Chaya Devi & Usha Devi, consorts of Surya Deva are installed on either side of Aruna. Pujya Sri Swamiji offered Kalasha Abhisheka to Surya Narayana Swami. Sri Swamiji tied a red and white clothe on the idol. Sri Swamiji put a flower garland and performed Arati. Sri Swamiji also offered flowers to the large Sphatika Crystal Aditya.
Thousands of devotees were given Annadanam in a nearby ground.
Later in the day, thousands of devotees came for Darshana of newly installed deities.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji sang two Bhajans on Surya Deva and one on Mother goddess. Sri Swamiji also gave a discourse giving outlines of Sun God’s birth as mentioned in Puranas.
