Hanuman Chalisa Parayana Maha Yagna at Vijayawada ~ 5 Jan 2019
Gnana Bodha Sabha, Vijayawada organized a mega Hanuman Chalisa Parayana Maha Yajna on the banks of sacred Krishna river at Padmavathy Ghat in Vijayawada. The entire 800 meter long ghat with 60 steps were filled with devout from 3 PM onwards eagerly waiting for the arrival of Pujya Swamiji and chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. Pujya Swamiji arrived at the venue at 5.30 PM and walked down the steps to the giant stage set up in the waters of Krishna river. The elaborate decoration on stage depicted Himalayas and Sri Rama Parivar Murtis on top. Pujya Swamiji’s Vyasa Peetham at the center at and musicians around Sri Swamiji, two Hanuman with water falls on the either edge of the stage and a tall Hanuman Murti by Sri Swamiji’s Peetham complemented the stage decoration. Upon arrival, Pujya Sri Swamiji offered Purnahuti of Narayana Homa. By then Sri. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh arrived on stage. He joined Pujya Swamiji in offering betel leaves Archana to Hanuman and offered Arati. Sri Swamiji blessed him with the betel leaves which were offered to Hanuman. Sri. Naidu offered a special momento to Pujya Swamiji in honor of Sri Swamiji’s 50th year of visit to Vijayawada (1969-2019). Later, Sri Swamiji and Sri. Chandra Babu Naidu lit the inaugural lamp. Sri. Naidu in his speech thanked Sri Swamiji for holding the spiritually powerful Hanuman Chalisa chanting in Vijayawada and blessing Andhra Pradesh. Sri Swamiji then, started the Hanuman Chalisa chanting and continued it for 18 times of chanting. In between the Chalisas, Hanuman Nama Sankeertana was done. At the end, Sri Swamiji made people take oath on leading a good and spiritual life. Sri. Pawan Kalyan, cine actor and head of Janasena party attended chanted in the final one hour of Hanuman Chalisa. He offered a Gaja Mala garland to Sri Swamiji on behalf of devotees thanking Sri Swamiji. Sri Swamiji then performed Arati to Krishna river. London world records company gave a record citation to Sri Swamiji recognizing this event as the Hanuman Chalisa chant event attended by most people. Sri Swamiji lit a Dharma Jyoti as the concluding event of a beautiful evening. As Sri Swamiji climbed the stairs to leave the venue, roaring Jaikara and victory chants by the thousands of devotees reached skies. This program was organized to commommerate the golden jubilee year of Pujya Swamiji's first visit to Vijayawad - 1969-2019
