Pujya Sri Swamiji arrived in Pittsburgh at 3 PM on 24 September 2018. After receiving Pada Puja by Dr.Ramana & Indubala Murty & Preeti Murti & Carlos in their residences, Pujya Swamiji arrived in Pittsburgh Aviary at 6.30 PM. The aviary had been kept open for private group of Sri Swamiji and His devotees for three hours. Sri Swamiji saw the three areas of grasslands, birds, wetland birds & rainforest birds arena. Sri Swamiji was fascinated with the new bird flying experience giving machine titled “Birdly”. Many devotees tried it. The machine is a state of art Swiss technology combining mechanics and virtual reality. The rider will be mounted with a head gear which shows the skies of New York city. While lying on the machine, the rider has to flap the wings to soar and adjust the sides to swoop down, turn and lift. It was an amazing machine.
On 25th, Sri Swamiji visited the homes of Smt.Lakshmi Nimmagadda & Venkat. Later
Pujya Swamiji arrived in Datta Retreat Center by noon of Tuesday - 25 September 2018. Upon arrival, Sri Swamiji went to the Universal Sanctuary directly and offered Arati to Datta & Anagha deities. Sri Swamiji garlanded the statue of Jesus Christ.
Datta Retreat Center was the first Ashrama started by Sri Swamiji in United States in 1988. The 50 acre Ashrama nestled in the lap of green nature is similar to that of Mysuru Ashrama in late sixties.
In the evening, Pujya Sri Swamiji gave a music for meditation concert titled “Shiva Dhyana Raga Sagara” in the unity hall at 7 PM. Sri.John “Ramana” Laird welcomed Sri Swamiji.
Smt.Phyllis “Padma” Turk offered a copper plaque commemorating Datta Retreat Center’s 30th anniversary.
After the concert, a large vegan cake was offered to Pujya Swamiji by Meera Sankara, member of JDRC to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the beautiful Datta Retreat Center.
On Wednesday, 26 September, Pujya Swamiji visited the Temple in the morning and invited a group of devotees to meditate with him in the temple. Later, Sri Swamiji came to prayer hall and invited devotees to explain their understanding on the concept of Dharma. Sri Swamiji then, chanted the Shloka on Dharma and explained the ten features that make up Dharma. Sri Swamiji said "Datta retreat center is like Mis mother Ashrama and holds a very special place among all Ashramas".
In the evening, Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in front of the beautiful crystal Shivalingam in the prayer hall.
On Thursday 27 September, Sri Swamiji visited DeBence antique music world, a museum collection of antique music instruments and mechanized music instruments. Sri Swamiji spent an hour admiring the mechanics of the music instruments form 1850 to 1950. Later, Sri Swamiji visited river front park in Franklin where French Creek & Allegheny rivers meet. Sri Swamiji said the place was peaceful and spent an hour there.
In the evening, the newly built Yaga Shala at Datta retreat center was inaugurated with the performance of Ganapathy Homa. Sri Swamiji offered Purnahuti. Later, Sri Swamiji spoke to devotees and urged them to regularly practice Kriya Yoga which vitalizes physical and mental health.
