Pujya Sri Swamiji in Chennai Ashrama - Chaturmasya Visit
Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji visited Adi Guru Datta Kshetram, Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashrama in Velacheri, Chennai from the 14th to 16th August 2018. Pujya Swamiji was visiting to grace the 15th Chaturmasya Vrata Deeksha of Pujya Sri Datta Vijayananda Teertha Swamiji, Karakamala Sanjata Uttaradhikari of Pujya Swamiji.
Pujya Sri Swamiji arrived in Chennai Ashrama at 5 PM on 14th August 2018 and was received by Sri Bala Swamiji and trustees of Chennai Ashrama. In the evening Pujya Swamiji gave Darshana to devotees.
On 15th August 2018, Pujya Swamiji performed Gau Puja and Sri Chakra Puja. Mridangam maestro Sri. Karaikudi Mani presented a Nandikeshwara idol to Pujya Swamiji. The audience chanted Jana Gana Mana national anthem of India and Pujya Swamiji held Indian flag. Sri Swamiji then surprised the audience by inviting those born before Indian independance (1947) to come for a group photo. Chennai Ashrama gifted school uniform clothe material to economically weaker students on the occasion of 73rd Indian independance day. Sri Swamiji then questioned the audience about the significance of colors on Indian flag. He also asked devotees in audience to come and explain their concept of Dharma. Many came forward spoke as to what Dharma means to them. Sri Bala Swamiji then spoke about the oft quoted Shloka on Dharma by Pujya Swamiji -
Dhrithkshama Damosteyam Sauchamindrya Nigrahaha
Dheervidya Satyamakrodho Dashakam Dharma Lakshanam
The above Shloka lists the ten qualities of Dharma. They are
Dhriti - Perseverance
Kshama - Forgiveness
Dama - Self Restraint
Asteya - Non stealing
Shaucha - Internal & external purity
Indriya Nigraha - Control of senses
Dhi - (improvement of) intellect
Vidya - (acquiring) knowledge
Satya - Truth
Akrodha - abstaining from anger
Sri Bala Swamiji also profusely quoted from Vedas and other Shastras to explain the quality of Dharma.
Sri Swamiji then released two Tamil books - 1. Kriya Yoga lessons, 2. Nadi Shuddhi exercises.
Devotees had the opportunity to come and offer respects to Pujya Swamiji.
Later, Sri Swamiji visited the shrines of Adi Guru Dattatreya Swami and Anagha Mata, Raja Rajeswari Devi, Karya Siddhi Hanuman, Lalita Kumkumarchana and Navagrahas.
Pujya Sri Swamiji blessed the home of Sri.Ramani, Ashrama trustee and neighbor who had raised the level of his house by five feet.
In the evening, Pujya Bala Swamiji gave discourse on some Shlokas of Mooka Panchashati on Kamkshi Devi by the dumb poet, Mooka kavi.
Pujya Swamiji came and gave Darshana to devotees.
On 16th August, Pujya Swamiji visited the home of Sri.S.Chandrashekar in MRC Nagar and travelled to Mysuru and reached Mysuru Ashrama at 8 PM.
