Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji visited the sacred Ahobilam town on 24th November 2021.
Pujya Sri Swamiji was visiting to have Darshana of the Narasimha Swami, the presiding deity of the Kshetram and also to inaugurate the Datta Peetham SGS Ashrama constructed in Ahobilam town.
Pujya Swamiji drove from Kurnool and stopped along the way in Allagadda, the fabled town of stone sculpturing and visited the home of Subramanya Sthapathy who sculpted the Marakata Subramanya Swami temple in Mysuru Ashrama, The 45 feet tall monolith Hanuman in Mysuru Ashrama and the 18 feet tall Dattatreya in Ganagapura Ashrama.
Arriving in Ahobilam at noon, Pujya Sri Swamiji unveiled the inaugural plaque and blessed the new Ashrama. The chief priest of Ahobilam Narasimha temple Vidwan Venugopala Acharya and other priests welcomed Sri Swamiji to Ahobilam. Sri Swamiji in the discourse mentioned that Ahobila Narasimha was the family deity of Gandluru clan to which Pujya Swamiji belonged in Poorvashrama.
Vid.Venugopalacharya narrated the history of the nine Narasimha shrines in the Ahobilam Kshetra and about the serenity of the Nallamalla forests in which the sacred temples of Srisailam, Tirupati & Ahobilam are located. He mentioned that the Narasimha Avatara was in Ahobila Kshetram.
Later in the day, Pujya Swamiji gave Darshana to trustees of SGS Ashrama, Proddatur. They apprised Pujya Swamiji of the developmental works in Ashrama and invited Pujya Swamiji to visit Proddatur.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji visited Diguva Narasimha Swami temple built in 15th century and took Darshana of Lord Narasimha & Chenchu Lakhsmi. Sri Swamiji was taken to the photo museum where extensive information on the history of the Kshetram is displayed in photographs.
At 7 PM, Pujya Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in the new SGS Ashrama. Sri Swamiji blessed those involved in Ashrama construction. Sri.Subba Rao and Sri.Madhusudana Rao of Brahmana Satram, opposite new Ashrama and chief priest Sri.K.R.Venugolpala Acharya (Ramesh) rendered support during construction.
