Pujya Sri Swamiji travelled to Kurukshetra on 27th December with 52 Tataji Sena Bhagavad Gita chanters and their relatives in six buses. Sri Swamiji travelled in each bus for a short while. While in bus, Kids chanted Bhagavad Gita Dhyana Shlokas and thanked Sri Swamiji for traveling with them. Sri Swamiji arrived in Kurukshetra at 2 PM. Organizers & Devotees received Sri Swamiji at the entrance of the town. The town had been decorated with arches & banners announcing the visit of Pujya Sri Swamiji. Sri.Kamal Kapur, devotee from Delhi had made meticulous arrangements in Kurukshetra.
Sri Swamiji and the chanters stayed in Jairam Vidya Peeth in Kurukshetra. At 4 PM, Sri Swamiji visited Jyotisar, the place revered as the location where Lord Krishna preached Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna. While Sri Swamiji sat under a old tree at the location, devotees sat around the tree having Darshana of Sri Swamiji. Sri Bala Swamiji spoke about the visit and the greatness of Kurukshetra and the significance of Sri Swamiji’s visit.
Sri Swamiji spoke about his fulfillment of the promise made to the US kids to take them to Kurukshetra. Sri Swamiji further likened the Hanuman shrine in front of Him as a significance of Rama Avatara & Krishna Avatara conveying the greatness of Maha Vishnu. Devotees chanted Dhyana Shlokas of Bhagavad Gita.
Later at 7 PM, Sri Swamiji was carried in a horse chariot from Jairam Vidya Peeth to Haryana Government meditation hall on the banks of Brahma Sarovar. Welcome function was held. Sri Kamal Kapur offered Krishna decoration to Pujya Sri Swamiji. Kuchipudi dance depicting Sri Swamiji written Gita Sara Shlokas was performed by ***. Sriragini Ghantasala and ***. Samhita Bandaru.
On 28 December 2016, Sampoorna Bhagavad Gita Parayana was chanted by 52 US children from memory in the meditation hall at 9 AM. The hall was full of devotees chanting along. Sri Swamiji sat on stage along with the chanters who were seated in four rows on risers. Sri.Kamal Kapur decorated each student with a white beads Mala & a Radha Krishna pendant. The three hour chanting continued smoothly. There was a short break after the chanting of 6th chapter was completed. By 1 PM, all 700 verses of Bhagavad Gita had been chanted by the fortunate 52 Tataji Sena members from USA had been chanted. They also chanted Gita Mahatmya Shlokas from baraja Purana and Gita Saram Shlokas composed & tuned by His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji. They were honored by Smt.Urmila Aiyappan and Sri K.V.Aiyappan from Singapore with a memento. Before leaving the venue, Sri Swamiji visited the medical stall at the venue arranged by Dr.Lalit Duggal, Dr.Nandi Duggal & Dr.Pooja Khosla from New Delhi. Many visitors came for free ECG, blood glucose & blood pressure check ups.
Sri Swamiji visited Brahma Sarovara and offered prayers and Arghya with the lake waters.
At 3 PM, Sri Swamiji and Gita chanting participants visited the famed “Krishna Museum” in Kurukshetra. They also visited the adjacent science centre and admired the panoramic painting of Kruskshetra war in the top floor. Sri Swamiji advised the children to carefully observe the different instances wonderfully depicted in the huge 360 degree painting.
There were euphoric and enthusiastic scenes among the US visitors for the very successful visit of Kurukshetra and considered this sacred pilgrimage with Pujya Sri Swamiji as an important spiritual milestone in their lives.
At 9.45 AM on 29 December 2016, Pujya Sri Swamiji blessed the cooks from Guntur who cooked south Indian food for visitors, the Jai Ram Vidya Peetha manager, organizers of the arrangements - Sri Kamal Kapur & Sri.Raju.
Sri Swamiji travelled the Vidya Peetha grounds and felt that another visit in late October of 2017 could be arranged for Indian students who are memorizing Bhagavad Gita in various Ashramas and devotee homes.
Sri Swamiji travelled to Chandigarh to travel to Vijayawada and left at 12.15 PM.
