Pujya Swamiji visits Vishwaroopa Datta Kshetram
Ganagapura - 1st to 3rd December 2015
From 1st to 3rd December 2015, Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji visited Sri Vishwaroopa Datta Kshetram Ashrama established by Him in 2011.
On 1st December 2015, Sri Swamiji travelled Dundigal Ashrama to Ganagapura.
Ganagapura is the penance place of Swami Narasimha Saraswati, the revered incarnation of Dattatreya Swami who lived in 14th century. Ganagapura is considered a place where Dattatreya’s energy is in the form of the Padukas of Swami Naraswima Saraswati. Pujya Swamiji built an Ashrama in 2011 and named it as Vishwaroopa Datta Kshetra. The important features of this Ashrama are
1. A circular stone temple for Marakata stone idol of Dattatreya
2. Stories of Narasimha Saraswati Swami in pictures around the temple
3. 18 feet tall monolith Dattatreya Swami on top of the circular stone temple - as the Shikhara
4. Small shrines of Narasimha Saraswati Swami and Sri Pada Vallabha Swami
4. Annapoorna Mandiram - daily Annadanam is performed thrice a day for visiting pilgrims
In the evening of 1st December, Sri Swamiji took Darshana of Marakata Dattatreya Swami in Ganagapura Ashrama. Devotees sang Bhajans and Kakdarati Bhajan in temple yard. Pujya Sri Swamiji in a riveting discourse, called on Telugu devotees to learn Kannada as most of His discourses are in Kannada language. Sri Swamiji also cautioned devotees and personal staff to lead a life of spirituality and Sadhana. “when you stand in the court of Yama, your actions and Sadhana alone speak for you and not your Seva to Swamiji and Ashrama” said Sri Swamiji.
On 2nd December, Wednesday, Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Shuddhodaka Abhisheka to Dattatreya Swami and Sri Chakra Puja deities. Pujya Swamiji then directed the decoration made on Dattatreya Swami. After Arati, Pujya Swamiji gave Blessings to hundreds of devotees who lined through the Garbhalayam and took Darshana.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji visited the home of Sri Ravindra Bhat Poojary, local priest and a devotee. Later Pujya Swamiji visited the Nirguna Matha - the main temple in Ganagapura. Sri Swamiji went around the shrine and worshipped Narasimha Saraswati Swami inside the shrine by offering Arati to the idol. Pujya Sri Swamiji took Darshana of the Shiva Lingam and sacred Padukas of Swami Narasimha Saraswati.
After coming out of the shrine, Sri Swamiji took Darshana of Audumbara tree in the temple and sat on the temple steps for some minutes and meditated.
Later Sri Swamiji visited an Ashrama on the banks of Bhima-Amaraja rivers Samgamam. The Ashrama has been providing accommodation for visiting Datta Peetham devotees. Sri Swamiji went to the river and offered Adghya in the waters. Sitting on the steps leading to river, Sri Swamiji again meditated in silence.
Late in the evening, Sri Swamiji came to Marakata Dattatreya temple and offered prayers & Kakadarati. In the discourse, Sri Swamiji asked the devotees to pray for respite from the devastating rains pounding Chennai and south-eastern sea board of India. Prayer gives strength to humans who feel powerless when nature’s fury unfurl - said Sri Swamiji. The discourse continued about the power of silence and Sri Swamiji took exception to noisy devotees who never understand the beauty of silence. Sri Swamiji wished for Indians to enjoy silence.
