The three day Guru Purnima festival concluded on 2nd August 2015 in Marakata Karya Siddhi Hanuman temple in Frisco, Texas, USA.
Pujya Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in the temple hall.
Hundreds of devotees participated in the mass Bhajan chanting titled "Hanuman Navaratna Bhajans" singing program. All the participants had undergone training for this event. The ensuing two hours of devotional outpour of divine Bhajans composed by Sri Swamiji. Swara patters were arranged for each Bhajan and was sung by a group of prefessional devotee singers. Dallas musicians assisted on violin, Veena & Mridangam. The program was directed by Datta Peetham musicians Vid.Mani Narasimham & Vid.Jaitra Varanasi. Sri Swamiji interluded during some Bhajans to give a history of that particular composition. Nine Bhajans composed by Sri Swamiji on Hanuman were sung. Four other deities Bhajans too were sung. After the program, Sri Swamiji spoke on the greatness of Nama Sankeertana. Sri Swamiji lauded the earnestness of Kum.Gayathri Mullapudi who records one Bhajan everyday and emails Sri Swamiji. She was honored & blessed by Pujya Sri Swamiji. Shri Swamiji also launched a new Vimeo video channel for devotees to offer Bhajans to be hosted on this channel. Sri Swamiji listened to the first post on the channel - the bhajan "Hanumanta Balavanta" - sung by Kum.Gayatri Mullapudi.
Sri Swamiji released "Nadi Shuddhi Exercises" DVD which contains video of Sri Swamiji demonstrating Nadi cleansing exercises. Sri Swamiji also blessed participation certificates issued by Guinness world records to those who attended the Australia Nada Sagara concert in Sydney Opera House on 6th April 2015.
In the evening, Sri Swamiji sang two new Bhajans. The first one was on the importance of Guru Purnima, titled "Guru Purnima - Guru Datta Purnima" - a Samskrutam composition set to Kharaharapriya Ragam in Khandagati.(Download via this link). The second Bhajan was on all the deities installed in the Dallas Hanuman Temple. The Bhajan is is Samskrutam and titled "Marakata Hanuman Gurutara Variman" (Download vis this link) It was sung in Maya Malava Gaula Ragam and set to Tishragati. Sri Swamiji also sang "Aim Hreem Shreem" and narrated the story connected to the bhajan and the Luzern concert after surgery on Sri Swamiji's arm in August 2001. Sri Swamiji spoke about the Keeravani Ragam played in that concert. (It can be downloaded on iTunes store. Link). The title of the album is "Music of Mystics".
Before Bhajans started, Sri Swamiji blessed a young flutist from California, Vid.Shreyas Bharadwaj. He had played for the mass Bhajans in the morning and gave a carnatic classical concert in Hanuman Sannidhi in the evening. Sri Swamiji asked the boy to play a Kriti. Shri.Shreyas Bharadwaj played "Dinamani Vamsha" - a compositin of Thyagaraja set in Harikambhoji Ragam. Sri Swamiji was pleased with the classicity of Sri.Bharadwaj's flute play.
Marakata Karya Siddhi Hanuman Maha Mangalarati was performed. Sri Swamiji later blessed those who had shaved their head as a mark of respect for Guru Purnima.
Thus the first ever three day Guru Purnima festival concluded in the newly inaugurated Marakata Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple in Frisco, TX, USA.
