Dallas Hanuman Temple inauguration - Kumbhabhishekam rituals commence 18th July 2015

Pujya Sri Swamiji travelled Bengaluru - Dubai - Dallas on the evening of 14th July and reached Dallas on the morning of 15th July 2015. Many devotees had come to airport to receive Pujya Sadgurudeva. The happiness on everyone's face reflected the historic events that were to come in the coming week. 

Pujya Swamiji was in Dallas to perform the Kumbhabhishekam of the Marakata Karya Siddhi Hanuman temple in Frisco town. 

A short history of the developments. 

Sri Swamiji was transiting through Dallas on 9th August1999. A small satsang group formed. In 2007, Sri Swamiji blessed the group's Sankalpa to find land to build a Hanuman temple.  In 2008 January, the group purchased 10 acres of land in Frisco town near Dallas. In April 2008, Sri Swamiji visited Dallas and blessed the land. Many devotees purchased homes around the temple. 

 

The Satsang group built a small Mandir for Hanuman and Pujya Sri Swamiji inaugurated the Mandir on 3rd July 2009. Sri Swamiji named the Mandir as "Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple". The temple offered varieties of religious, cultural, educational, yoga, cummnity welfare activities. The temple became very popular among the devout public. The Satsang group took Blessings of Sri Swamiji to build a proper temple. Sri Swamiji announced that Marakata stone Hanuman would be installed in the temple. Drawings were prepared, city council permission was taken for a building a large Hanuman temple of 32,000 square feet area. 

Sri Swamiji announced that shrines of Marakata Karya Siddhi Hanuman with Sri Ram Parivar, Mother goddess Raja Rajeswari, Sri Dattatreya and crystal Shiva Lingam, Ganapathy, Bala Subrahmanya & Navagrahas would be installed. On 7th July 2013, Sri Swamiji performed the Bhumi Puja of ground breaking of the temple project. Led by a team of temple architects, the construction went ahead in full swing for the first phase of the temple construction. Within two years, the first phase of the project was completed and the temple was ready for Kumbhabhishekam. 

 

On the evening of 17th July 2015, Sri Swamiji toured the new temple premises and expressed immense happiness in the fast paced completion. Sri Swamiji also visited the Yaga Shala adjacent to the temple and blessed the priests who performed Maha Ganapathy Puja. 

 

At 11.02 AM on Saturday, the most cherished moment of the Dallas devotees came true. Pujya Sri Swamiji inaugurated the sprawling 12,716 square feet prayer hall in front of the shrines. Sri Swamiji unveiled a plaque commemorating the Kumbhabhishekam event. As Pujya Sri Swamiji entered the new prayer hall premises which can accommodate 3640 person capacity hall excited "Jaikarams" reached the skies. Sri Swamiji also unveiled a plaque naming the 2542 sq ft Yaga Shala as "Sri Rama Chandra Yaga Shala". The facility was dedicated to the memory of Sri.Krish Raman of Chicago. Sri Swamiji entered the Yaga Shala where the Kumbhabhishekam rituals were to be performed in the coming days. Sri Swamiji gave "Raksha threads" to the Ritviks who were to perform the rituals connected with temple opening as per Agama Shastra. 

 

Sri Swamiji performed the first ever Sri Chakra Puja in the hall. Smt.Uma Ranganathan offered first music Seva in the new sprawling hall. Thousands of devotees had come  to witness this beautiful function. After Puja, Dr.Prakasa Rao, Chairman of Datta Yoga Center, USA gave a scholarly welcome speech outlining the history of the temple development, Sadguru Tattva & the dedication of volunteers and devotees who serve the temple.

Sri Swamiji, seated on the temple platform tied Raksha threads to the trustees of the temple. Sri Swamiji released the commemorative souvenir book to celebrate the temple opening. In the evening, Sri Swamiji sang Bhajans in the new temple prayer hall. 

 

Elaborate arrangements were made for visitors. Volunteer group, known as "Vanara Sena" were making meticulous arrangements to ensure smooth flow of traffic, visitors, Anandana and other arrangements. 

 

Starting from 1976 when Sri Swamiji visited the United States of America for the first time, to the formation of the institution -  Datta Yoga Center in 1986, to the inauguration of Sri Swamiji's first Ashrama known as Jesus Datta Retreat Center in West Sunbury town in Pennsylvania state, the inauguration of second Ashrama in Baton Rouge on July 20th 1997, the Datta devotees in US needed the third temple and the Frisco Hanuman Mandir now a new glory in the story of Pujya Swamiji's blessings to the US public.
