Pujya Sri Swamiji in Sri Padavallabha Datta Kshetram, Pithapuram
Pujya Sri Swamiji in Pithapuram
Pithapuram Ashrama conducted the 15th Brahmotsavam of Sripadavallabha Anagha Datta Kshetram.Arriving at Pithapuram Sri Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji inaugurated the new stage and attached rooms. The Prayer Hall was renovated with flooring by the Chief patron of the Temple Sri SV Ramana Murty and his wife Smt Padmini.
Member of Parliament, Sri Tota Narasimham and MLA Sri NVS Verma visited and sought Blessings from Pujya Swamiji.
In his benedictory message, Sri Swamiji spoke about the vice of non vegetarian food.
In this part of the country, animals are culled for the feast on Kanuma day after Sankranti.
Citing the example of Nepal where thousands of Buffalos were slaughtered in the name of sacrifice and the aftermath of devastating earthquakes. Similarly in some Japanese coasts, whales were cruelly killed which might resulted in the Tsunami and Quakes.
God plays the role of the judge, we should remember. At times, the mighty will behave as if there is no one to resist their sadistic pleasure by subjecting the feeble to cruelty. Killing and hurting someone for your celebration is never the methodology approved by the divinity.
In a Jainism appeals to me for their non harming practices. Perhaps we might take that pantheon if the society does not shun this meat mania.
Killing the chicken, hen and *** for its meat is heinous. Do not even think that you will become feeble, if you become vegetarian. Take the example of elephant or Rhinoceros. Are not they strong?
Is not Deer fast?
We look for pretexts to satiate the appetite of our senses. This is the land of Kukkuteswara, Shiva who appeared in the form of a ***, to awaken a Sage.
Let us get awakens and stop killing the birds for their meat.
This is the violent cycle, which wiu affect us to a great extent in the next lives. May be, these culled animals will take birth again to avenge their heinous slaughter and we might become the slaughtered poor creatures.
It is even more atrocious to take refuge of traditions. No tradition worth its salt, advocates mindless violence. If it does ever, it is not a good tradition.
We should only adopt good good practices and traditions based on humanistic values of helping others and discard evil practices of violence and hatred.
Enhance the quality of compassion and switch over to plant food. Though all the plants have life, the food they give us without abandoning the chance of sustained life. Even after giving you the fruits, grains, leaves, roots and vegetables they can live further. It is a sign for all of us, to minimise our foot print on nature while using natural resources. Avoid hurting the plants as much as possible.
May Datta give us the tact to handle this precarious life deftly.
Jaya Guru Datta
