His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji inaugurated “Beyond the spirit of Bonsai” - International Bonsai conference and exhibition hosted by Avadhoota Datta Peetham from the 19th to 22nd December 2016 at Mysuru Ashrama. At 9.30 AM, the headliners of the event from India, Vietnam, USA, Australia, Japan & Singapore along with His Holiness Sri Swamiji and Pujya Sri Bala Swamiji took Darshana of Dattatreya and went in a procession from universal prayer hall to Nada Mantapa. Sri.Junichi Kawaue, Consul and Head of the Consulate of Japan, Bengaluru was the chief guest. Sri Swamiji and all guests on stage inaugurated the three day conference by pouring water on Bonsai styled Bodhi tree from Kishkindha Moolika Bonsai garden. All the headliners were honored with special Bonsai Vastram and a special memento prepared for the occasion. The prestigious Datta Peetham title - “Sasya Bandhu” were conferred on 1) Mr. Jiro Fukuda, Japan 2) Mr. Lindsay Bebb, Australia 3) Mr. Chen Tsang Shing, Taiwan 4) Mr. Walter Liew, U.S.A 5) Mr. Boh Twang Keng, Singapore 6) Mr. Madhu Sudhan, Hyderabad Sri Bala Swamiji spoke on the occasion and conveyed Sri Swamiji’s happiness about the conference being hosted on Datta Peetham’s golden jubilee year. Commommerative souvenir book from Datta Peetham was released by the Japanese consul. Two days of intense workshops on Bonsai art is planned. In the evening, Sri Swamiji visited the Bonsai plants exhibition brought by Bonsai clubs of Mumbai, Pune, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Nagerkoil and Chennai
