Sri Swamiji in USA, Jun - Jul 2011
Pujya Sri Swamiji arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada on 27 June 2011. The Holy purpose of this visit came to be known only on the next day. Sri Swamiji visited the west rim of the world renowned Grand Canyon on 28 June. This west rim is run by the Hualapai Indians. They welcomed Sri Swamiji with open arms. Sri Swamiji went to visit the Skywalk, a man made glass walkway that stretches more than 70 feet over the canyon. The bottom is all glass so one feels that one is walking on air over the great Grand Canyon.
Later, Sri Swamiji visited the Art Museum at the world famous Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. As He was leaving the museum His Holiness saw an photographic art gallery. It turns out that this was the Jeff Mitchum Galleries. The gallery had only opened three months before. Sri Swamiji was patiently listening to the art director, Mr. Victor Diaz, as he was explaining each and every picture in the gallery. How many years it took the photographer, Mr. Jeff Mitchum, to get a particular shot, what is the story behind each picture, etc. In the back of the gallery, there was a small room that held a few more pictures. As Sri Swamiji walked into that room, His Holy breath was taken away by what He saw. In that room was a picture called ‘King of the World.’ In the center of the picture was a clear picture of Hanuman! Sri Swamiji explained that He had a vision of Hanuman in that room. The vision was of Hanuman crossing Lanka and meeting with Minaka Parvatha, who was blocking His way. Sri Swamiji immediately felt that the picture should be shown to all devotees across the world. In His Sankalpa Sri Swamiji decided to release a book of pictures taken by Jeff Mitchum, with some of Sri Swamiji’s favorite sayings in the book. The cover of this wonderful book is the picture of Hanuman, indeed the King of the World. The artist also immediately agreed that this should be done!
