Parama Pujya Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji’s 111th foreign tour started in Chicago by His arrival on Tuesday, June the 14th 2011. Programs were conducted at the Hindu Temple of Greater Chicago (Rama Temple).
On Wednesday evening, Sri Swamiji gave Darshan to devotees at Guru Nilayam. Eminent and famous Telugu Poet and Pancha Sahasra Avadhani Dr. Medasani Mohan was among the attendees. Sri. VR Raman explained the trip being a miracle to have started 4 days ahead than planned earlier and introduced the detail schedule of the trip with Important Dates and events. Dr. Medasani Mohan spoke to the gathering regarding Sri Swamiji being his GURU and the Importance of GURU in every one's life. He mentioned that he got blessings from Sri Swamiji in his career's earlier stages and how that guided him to be who he is today. He sang an Annamacharya Kruti that states Lord Venkateshwara in Tirupati is non-other than Lord Dattatreya himself. Listening to this song Swamiji blessed, that this Kruti should be engraved on stone and should be installed in the Datta Venkateshwara Temple, Mysore. In His discourse, Sri Swamiji stressed the importance of Satsang and how to avoid concentrating on unimportant things and constantly thinking about them. He advised to think about GOD, GURU and or important events in your or others’ lives.
On Sunday, Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja in Rama Temple. Being Father’s Day June 19th, devotees were truly blessed being in the presence of Sadguru. Sri Swamiji cut the Father’s day Cake and gave a discourse.
In the evening, the Celestial Music Troop sang Bhajans at Rama Temple.
