Sri Swamiji in Andhra Pradesh, Datta Giri, 14 Feb 2008

  • 14 Feb 2008 - 14 Feb 2008
  • Datta Giri, Andhra Pradesh, India

Datta Giri (hill) in Pochampally Village was another important place blessed by Pujya Swamiji in this trip. It was a decade long Sankalpam of Sri Swamiji to establish a Dattatreya Temple on a hill, symbolising the residence of Datta atop Sahyadri Range of Hills off west coast.
Sri Jagadeesh Kumar, a former bank employee from Hyderabad was a keen follower of Sri Swamiji. He had a vision that a Datta Temple be established on a hill and offered to Datta Peetham. Accordingly, he developed Datta Giri temple, Guru Nilayam atop a hillock on the outskirts of Hyderabad city (28 km) off Vijayawada High way. He had been inviting Sri Swamiji since 5 years to visit the Kshetram and accept their donation.

On the auspicious day, Sri Swamiji visited Datta Giri to inaugurate the new Guru Nilayam and accepted their Gift of Datta Giri. His Holiness was immensely pleased with the serenity and tranquility of the place and blessed all the members and friends of Jagadeesh Kumar family for their unswerving devotion and dedication towards Sadguru.

He ordained that this Datta Giri Kshetram would be a great centre of pilgrimage in future and suggested that Giri Pradakshina (circumambulation of the hillock) on Poornima Day and Meditation would be the important programs in this Kshetram.
