Datta Retreat Center and the devotees received an incredible surprise visit from Sri Swamiji on August 6th 2007. No programs were planned. Sri Swamiji arrived in the early afternoon, greeted by a small group of joyous devotees, many who had not been able to attend the Toronto programs and were crying in their hearts to meet Him again. (Sri Swamiji had expressed several times during the Canada visit, His longing to visit Datta Retreat Center, to stay there a few days and meditate with the Rocks. Again He reiterated, as He has told us many times over the years, that these rocks are living souls, Devatas, Angels, who are alive, have heartbeats even, asleep inside the rocks, and we must talk to them, meditate with them, and honor them.)

Upon His arrival, Sri Swamiji came to the Unity Hall to bless the waiting devotees. He informed everyone that Sri Swamiji would be in Mauna and everyone must be silent.

On Tuesday Sri Swamiji spent a restful and quiet day amidst the lovely forest setting at Datta Retreat Center. In the evening He came and sat with the devotees for awhile and gave darshan, then everyone had the blessed experience of viewing the new Nada Brahma video while in His presence.
Wednesday morning provided an incredible treat for all present. 5 devotee photographers were invited to photograph Sri Swamiji as He moved around the Center viewing all the latest developments. It was a fun event rather like the paparazzi skit performed during the cultural program in Canada! The day provided bright sunlight and Sri Swamiji spoke of many things during the go-round. At one point, He sat on the bench at the Vishnu Rock and held onto the rock for some time. Then, He told all the devotees to sit, and to hold their hands on the Rock in a certain manner while closing their eyes.It was a powerful moment for all. While standing and looking at the other side of the Rock, He pointed out ancient Japanese letters meaning "OM" which had formed on the Rock, and instructed a devotee to put Turmeric on them. Sri Swamiji also inspected the new office facility and the kitchen and bookstall area. Devotees present were blissful, experiencing Sri Swamiji in such a relaxed mood. He sat in the Unity Hall, in front of the newly painted Universe Mural and blessed the Devotees again.

On Wednesday evening, the devotees gathered in Unity Hall and sang bhajans while awaiting His arrival to give darshan. Sri Swamiji sat for quite a long time and all the devotees could approach Him if they desired.

Due to the short notice, the crowds remained small and the devotees were feeling as though they are visiting an ancient Rishi Ashrama. On thursday, Aug 9, the program was Paduka Puja at 6:30 PM in the Unity Hall.
