Inauguration of Prayer Hall and Guru Nilayam
Inauguration of Prayer Hall and Guru Nilayam
Sri Swamiji visited Pondicherry after four years and the Ashrama had reached a mile stone and was awaiting Sri Swamiji's arrival.
A large prayer hall and Guru Nilayam had been constructed by the Trustees led by Sri CVS Rama Rao. Pondicherry Ashrama is situated on the banks of Shankarabharani river in Mangalam village, just outside the town. The picturesque setting of the ashrama beside the river amidst the greens is soothing.
Sri Swamiji arrived in the Ashrama on 11th morning and inaugurated the Guru Nilayam and the prayer hall. Dignitaries present were the speaker of the assembly, H.E.MDR Ramachandran, Agriculture minister, Sri.A.Namassivayam, MLA Sri Jayakumar and others. The prayer hall has no frills and sports a large size photo of Sri Swamiji. As a trustee remarked "We need a prayer hall and this hall will go a long way in fulfilling our needs". Sri Swamiji named the hall as "Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Yoga Nada Bhavana".
In the afternoon, Sri Swamiji visited the neighboring Mudliyarkuppam village and donated the houses built by MCF to Tsunami affected villagers. Swami Manasa conducted Bhajans in the evening in the new prayer hall.
On Sunday, the 12th, Sri Swamiji performed Sri Chakra Puja, Maha Ganapati and Dattatreya Homas. 100 sarees were given away free to poor and needy women.
Children from Sankara school sang Bhajans during Puja. Kriya Yoga students got special advise from Sri Swamiji. The Tamil version of the book SAPTARSHI RAMAYANA was released by Sri Swamiji. It has been translated by Sri Srinivasan, editor of Tamil Bhakti Mala.
In the evening, wonderful Bhajans were held in the hall.
Sri Swamiji left Pondicherry to Madras and thence to Mysore on 13th February 2006 at 6 AM.
