Sri Swamiji arrived in Akividu on 7th January 2003, a day earlier than planned. Sri Immadisetty Subba Rao and others gave a warm reception to Sri Swamiji with Purna Kumbha. Sri Swamiji arrived in the Yaga Shala where rituals in connection with the 12th anniversary of Datta Temple were already taking place. Sri Swamiji offered Purnahuti. There after Sri Swamiji visited the public kitchen and unveiled the special Mantapa which housed a beautiful photo of Mata Jayalakshmi. Thereafter Sri Swamiji inaugurated a dormitory which houses the troupe accompanying Sri Swamiji (more than 45 persons are accompanying Sri Swamiji on this trip with each having a distinct duty like, Puja assistance, music, book stall etc).
Sri Swamiji first visited Akividu in 1981 at the instance of Dr.T.Samba Shiva Rao who later settled down in Mysore Ashrama and was teaching and conducting Homeopathy treatment to Ashrama inmates. Since that visit Akividu has been a growing branch of Sri Swamiji's centre. In 1989, The Ashrama and the Datta Temple was consecrated. Akividu is a small town mainly involved in rice cultivation, prawn and fish farms.
On 8th Sri Swamiji performed, Puja, Homa and Satsang.
On 9th Sri Swamiji performed the Kumbhabhishekam of the Vishwambara Avadhoota Datta temple. Sri Swamiji spoke from the temple tower after the ritual bathing of the Kalashas atop the tower. Sri Swamiji gave a clarion call for people to follow the path of righteousness and lead a truthful life. Sri Swamiji thereafter performed Abhishekam to the Datta and Anagha Devi idols. Thousands of people participated.
In the evening a dance program was held and Sri Swamiji congratulated the doctors who had conducted diabetes detection and awareness camp that day in the Ashrama premises. Sri Swamiji gave a spirited speech about the dangers of diabetes and simple precautions people could take to avoid this dreaded illness.
Sri Swamiji left for Bhimavaram town on 10th January 2003 morning.
