The14th January 2003 was a rare day as three important festivities had fallen on a single day. They were

Kumbhabhishekam of Vishveshvara Shiva Linga

Sri Swamiji arrived in the proposed Shiva Temple at 6 AM and placed the Shiva Yantra in the base stone. Later Sri Swamiji came to Datta temple and opened the northern door indicating the UTTARA DVARA DARSHANA. Thousands of people went in queue and had Darshan of Lord Dattatreya procession idol and Sri Swamiji. It was indeed a blessed occasion.

Speech of Sri Swamiji in Eluru Ashrama on Jan 13, 2003

Everybody is busy. Even an ant is busy. Go and see in a rail station. You see masses of people in motion. The whole universe is in motion. In action. So we are very busy. But you find time to grow your egos, to abuse God, to make fun of others, to see television and throw around new papers out of sheer ego. This is called individual independence. What we call freedom today is one who has no law, no discipline, no observation of civility. Belief in God, singing Bhajans, going to temples is a low affair. A superstitious affair. But when troubled, we go to the street astrologer, go and fall at the feet of a moving monkey in search of solution. This is the parody in life. But such people are very educated. Convent bred children shun tradition and our heritage. But those who run those convents are steeped in observation of tradition and heritage. This is the sad state of affairs today. But this should be shunned. You are interested in the upbringing of your children in the western way. In India, we have the skewed up vision of the west . But in the real west, they are fine and good. Those who project west in India have vested interests and give the masses a skewed up version. Just sit and think for a while. Think why are you born. Try to find the answer to that. Don’t misuse your birth. Don’t misuse this human life. We all are falling in a bottomless pit. We have a shallow vision of our beliefs and observations. This is like earning less and wishing to spend more. Redraw the map of your life. Otherwise you will be at loss and lose balance. Continued happening of the above will beget ill health, unsuccessful economics, a bad spirit, unhappy marriage, bad habits in life like cigarette, gambling, liquor and hence a decaying mind. Thereby you will lose the skill of swimming in life. Lead a happy and truthful life. Being truthful brings you unimaginable happiness and a purposeful sense in life. It will correct your very foundations. Budget your life properly. Don’t be enthusiastic about the support you get from Guru or God. It is limited and directly depends on your efforts and willingness to correct yourself. In the short time you spend with me, learn something which will help you in life. Don’t leave this prayer hall with just Puja Prasad or Homa Prasad. Go with something more valuable. Imbibe the teachings of Swamiji in your life. Translate it in to real life. Use that great wealth judiciously and distribute to others.

This Eluru Ashrama has Karya Siddhi Hanuman temple. Karya Siddhi means fulfillment of work. What type of work? Today a devotee in Rajamundry died. He has no children. I had told since three years that the husband and wife come to Mysore. He has spent thousands of rupees on the Rajamundry Ashrama. Swamiji went to his house. He never spoke. I spoke to his wife today. She cried that her plans to talk to me since three years went blank because of postponing. Don’t loose Swamiji’s availability. Be brave and say what you want when you meet Swamiji. May God give you the courage to face life. I pray Hanuman and Shiva to give us their Blessings. Tomorrow we will inaugurate a Shiva Temple in the morning. Sankranti festival is coming in two days. On that day, the Sun God will change his direction. May he Bless us. Yesterday I came at 11 PM. I was late because of a long speech in a open air auditorium. I found peace when I arrived here. This Ashrama is beautiful and a happy one.

Participate in the Homas tomorrow. Don’t miss the Kumbhabhishekam tomorrow.
